Uses of Cozaar
Cozaar is a prescription medicine for treating hypertension (high blood pressure). It is part of a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers that lower blood pressure and prevent heart attacks and strokes.
Doctors also prescribe Cozaar to slow the advancement of kidney disease because of type 2 diabetes. Cozaar is available under the generic name Losartan.
Cozaar Precautions and Warnings
Do not use Cozaar if you are allergic to it or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

For pediatric patients, the recommended dosage is 0.7 mg/kg orally once daily. The total dosage is 50 mg.
