Ocular Inflammation

Ocular inflammation, also known as uveitis, is inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye. It can be caused by factors such as infection, autoimmune disorders, and injury. Symptoms may include eye pain, redness, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, floaters, and decreased vision. Treatment options include medication to reduce inflammation and manage pain, such as corticosteroid eye drops or injections, and antibiotics or antiviral medications if the inflammation is caused by an infection. Prevention involves good eye hygiene, avoiding toxins or irritants, seeking prompt treatment for eye injuries or infections, and regular monitoring for individuals with autoimmune disorders. Regular eye exams can help detect ocular inflammation early for prompt treatment.
