Tradjenta, also known by its generic name Linagliptin and available in a 5 mg dosage, is an oral medication formulated to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of antidiabetic drugs known as DPP-4 inhibitors, which are part of the gliptin family. Tradjenta is recommended to be used alongside a balanced diet and regular exercise to control blood sugar levels in adult patients with type 2 diabetes. It is not advised for use as a standalone treatment or in combination with other blood glucose-lowering medications. Additionally, Tradjenta is not intended for managing type 1 diabetes or preventing diabetic ketoacidosis when used with other antidiabetic drugs.
