Uses of Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion
Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion is mainly prescribed to improve tear production and reduce inflammation associated with dry eye conditions. Classified as an ophthalmic anti-inflammatory agent, its generic name is Cyclosporine Ophthalmic.
Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion Precautions and Warnings
Do not use Restasis if you are allergic to it. Ensure the dropper tip does not come into contact with any surface to avoid contamination and potential infection. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the eye drops.
Direction of Use for Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion
- Thoroughly wash your hands before applying the eye drops.
- Gently shake the bottle by inverting it several times.
- Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket.
- Hold the bottle above your eye and dispense one drop without touching the dropper tip to your eye.
- Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes after application.
- Repeat for the other eye if instructed to do so.
The recommended dosage is one drop in each eye, twice daily, 12 hours apart.
