OneTouch Ultra Diabetic Blood Glucose Test Strips are used to deliver blood samples to OneTouch Ultra 2 BGMS so you can monitor your blood glucose level. OneTouch Ultra Diabetic strips have two ends. One end has three contact bars that are inserted into your test port. The other end has an edge for applying your sample and confirmation window. There is a code on the vial of your OneTouch Ultra diabetic test strips. You need to manually impute the code to your test meter to calibrate it. These test strips are available in 50 or 100 units per vial.
How to use One Touch Ultra Test Strips?
In order to test yourself with a fingertip sample, you will need:
1. OneTouch Ultra 2 meter
2. Lancing device
3. A Sterile lancet
4. OneTouch Ultra blood glucose test strip
Put a new strip in the meter with the three bars facing you, and when you see the “APPLY BLOOD” message, you can apply the blood sample. Move the meter with the strip towards the drop of blood on your fingertip, and put it in the narrow channel near the edge of the strip. Wait for the confirmation window and the drop will be drawn in. Your glucose level will pop up on the screen, plus the unit of measure, time, and date. Don’t use your diabetic strips if the vial is broken or open to air, put the strip back in the vial after you do a test, re-use it, smear or scrape the blood with the strip, or move the diabetic test strip while doing a test.
